Hey friend,
Picture this: it’s 2 AM, and you’re staring at the ceiling, mind racing through worries about work, family, and that nagging health issue that just won’t quit. You can’t shake the feeling of being overwhelmed, can you? You’re not alone in this struggle.
God has a promise for you. Recently, I stumbled upon this verse that shifted my perspective entirely:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9, NIV
Here’s What I’ve Learned
Strength and courage aren’t always a sudden rush; sometimes, they come in quiet moments. I used to think I needed to muster up my own bravery before facing life’s challenges. But what God reminded me through that verse is that I don’t have to do it alone. He’s with me, offering the strength I so desperately need.
Life can be gut-punching sometimes, and I remember when I was juggling a demanding job and family responsibilities that felt insurmountable. One moment would hit me like a freight train, and I would wonder how I would ever move forward. That’s when I realized — I wasn’t tapping into this divine source of courage that God offers so freely.
I Remember When…
A few years ago, I was in a particularly dark space. Work felt suffocating, and one sleepless night, I found myself crying out to God in frustration. I regretted how I’d let the pressures of life drown out my joy and peace. Lying there, I felt an overwhelming urge to just pray. I didn’t have the right words, so I just whispered, “Lord, I need your strength.”
To my surprise, I felt a wave of peace wash over me. The next morning, I woke up with a spark of hope. That morning prayer led me to read Joshua 1:9, and it transformed my perspective. It wasn’t just about being strong; it was about recognizing that God was right there with me, through every struggle.
What Helped Me
What helped me was focusing on a few practical steps that infused my mornings with renewed strength:
– **Daily morning prayer**: Starting each day with a simple prayer, asking for courage and strength to face whatever comes my way.
– **Scripture reminders**: I began keeping a note on my bathroom mirror with encouraging verses. I would read them as I brushed my teeth, a daily reminder of God’s promises.
– **Gratitude journaling**: Each morning, I jot down three things I’m thankful for. Even on tough days, finding gratitude shifts my focus from what’s wrong to what’s right.
– **Walking in nature**: Taking time for a walk and embracing the beauty around me made such a difference. I often pray while I walk, feeling God’s presence in the rustling leaves.
Can I Pray for You?
As you read this, I want you to know I’m lifting you up in prayer. God sees your fears, your doubts, and your burdens. My heart cries out, “Lord, grant my friend strength and courage for the day ahead. Surround them with your peace and remind them of your constant presence.”
May you find solace in knowing you don’t have to face anything on your own. Allow each morning prayer to invite God into your struggles. He’s ready to walk beside you.
With love and hope,
