Hey friend,
Have you ever felt stuck in the cycle of daily grind? Like life’s just happening to you, and you’re holding on for dear life? I totally get it. There are days when I wake up and wonder if there’s more to all of this — more than work stress, family obligations, and endless to-do lists. Perhaps you’re asking the same question too, caught up in figuring out your purpose.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11, NIV
Here’s What I’ve Learned
This verse has been a guiding light for me, especially during those moments of uncertainty. Realizing that God has plans for us, even when we can’t see them, is a gut-punch kind of revelation. It reminds us that finding purpose in life often involves trusting in something greater than ourselves. I’ve learned that it’s okay to feel confused. Even when I’m lost, God is leading me toward something beautiful.
I Remember When…
I remember this one time when I felt incredibly overwhelmed. It was during a particularly hectic season at work. Deadlines were mounting. I was running on fumes, questioning everything – my job, my choices, and if I was truly fulfilling my purpose in life. I came home one evening, exhausted and near tears. As I sat with my family, I could feel the weight of my worries pressing down on me. It was a strange kind of loneliness, even in a crowded room.
Then, out of the blue, my youngest daughter handed me a drawing she’d made. It was a simple depiction of our family, but filled with bright colors and joy. In that moment, it hit me: I was so focused on my struggles that I had overlooked the sheer beauty of my life and the love that surrounded me. Finding purpose in life can sometimes mean stepping back and appreciating the blessings we often take for granted.
What Helped Me
What helped me was:
– **Journaling my thoughts:** Writing down my feelings cleared the mental fog. It’s amazing how putting pen to paper can bring clarity.
– **Taking moments to breathe:** Whether it was a short walk or just sitting quietly, those moments helped me reconnect with God and rediscover gratitude.
– **Reaching out to friends:** Talking about my struggles lightened the load. Friends often remind us of our worth when we forget.
– **Finding gratitude in the little things:** Focusing on small blessings — like a sunny day or a warm meal — shifted my perspective and opened up my heart.
Can I Pray for You?
God, I lift up my friend to You right now. Help them to see the beauty in their journey, even amidst uncertainty. May they find moments of gratitude that reveal the purpose You have placed in their lives. Allow them to recognize that every step, even the hard ones, is part of Your plan. Give them peace, and let them feel Your love surrounding them. Amen.
With love and hope,
